Haden Building Management, part of the Balfour Beatty Group, was a market leader in Facilities Management Services. In 2008, facing stiff competition and feeling the effects of the recession, Haden decided to rebrand as Balfour Beatty WorkPlace (BBW).

The Workroom were asked to develop a brand that would reposition the company, better articulate its offer and help accelerate business growth. In response, the agency created a new brand model, at the heart of which was the concept ‘Freedom to Perform’. Providing a solid platform for all communications, they also developed a verbal and visual language to reflect the idea that BBW is a catalyst for clients’ success.

The new brand has resonated strongly and reinvigorated the business. By the end of 2009, the company had seen a 41% increase in revenue and a rise in the average annual value of orders by £4.98 million. BBW is now climbing the food chain and accessing more lucrative total facilities management contracts.
