The Scottish tourism market is a crowded place. With little to differentiate them from their competitors, Highland Experience Tours (HET) decided the time had come for a brand and marketing refresh.
H&A were brought in to distinguish HET from the ubiquitous ‘glen and tartan’ approach that had become so familiar within the industry. Identifying the personal nature of HET’s tours, H&A shifted the messaging towards an unforgettable, fun and truly Scottish experience. They devised a new logo which placed emphasis on the word ‘experience’, using a hand-written typeface and modern-looking colour palette. This identity was then rolled out across redesigned marketing materials, tour brochure and shop signage.
Following the rebrand, business generated through the HET shop went up 40%, agent sales jumped 200% and online sales went up 50%. Within two months HET saw a full return on investment, and by the end of 2009 turnover was up 60% compared to 2008.
